PMAY Urban is redefining India’s approach to affordable housing by addressing the pressing need for dignified, accessible homes in rapidly expanding cities. The real estate prices are soaring, which has further increased the demand for quality yet affordable housing. To counter this, the government launched Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY‑U) under the broader umbrella of Awas Yojana Urban. This flagship scheme is committed to the goal of housing for all, especially for the economically weaker sections (EWS), low-income groups (LIG), and middle-income segments across urban India.
