The PM Awas Yojana in UP is a golden opportunity for everyone to own a safe, secure home. With government support, interest subsidies, and clear eligibility guidelines, the dream of home ownership is now within reach for all.
The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is a government scheme launched in 2015 to ensure “Housing for All” by providing affordable homes to economically weaker sections, low-income groups, and middle-income families. In Uttar Pradesh, PMAY operates through two components, i.e., PMAY-Urban and PMAY-Rural.
To apply for PMAY in Uttar Pradesh, you must meet certain eligibility criteria. Under PMAY-Urban, the applicant or any family member should not own a pucca house in India. Income should fall within one of these categories: EWS (up to ₹3 lakh), LIG (₹3–6 lakh), MIG-I (₹6–12 lakh), or MIG-II (₹12–18 lakh). For EWS/LIG, women’s ownership or co-ownership is preferred.
For PMAY-Gramin, eligibility requires inclusion in the SECC 2011 list, living in a kutcha house or being homeless, and not having received prior government housing aid.
To apply for PMAY in Uttar Pradesh, the process differs slightly for urban and rural applicants:
Urban Applicants (PMAY-U): Visit https://pmaymis.gov.in, click on “Citizen Assessment”, and select your category (EWS/LIG/MIG). Enter your Aadhaar number, fill in the required personal and income details, upload documents, and submit the form. Be sure to save your Assessment ID for future tracking.
Rural Applicants (PMAY-G): Go to https://pmayg.nic.in, navigate to “Stakeholders” → “IAY/PMAYG Beneficiary”, and check if your name appears using your PMAY ID or mobile number. If listed, you can apply through your Gram Panchayat or a nearby Common Service Center (CSC).
To qualify for PMAY-Urban, your annual income must fall into one of these categories: EWS (up to ₹3 lakh), LIG (₹3–6 lakh), MIG-I (₹6–12 lakh), or MIG-II (₹12–18 lakh). Benefits range from interest subsidies to loan support based on income. For PMAY-Gramin, eligibility is based on SECC 2011 data and deprivation criteria, not fixed income brackets.
To check your name in the PMAY-Urban list, visit https://pmaymis.gov.in, click on “Search Beneficiary”, and enter your Aadhaar number or Assessment ID.
For PMAY-Gramin, go to https://pmayg.nic.in, select “Stakeholders” > “IAY/PMAYG Beneficiary”, and enter your PMAY ID or mobile number. Your beneficiary status will appear if you’re listed. You can also verify your name at your local Gram Panchayat office.
To apply for PMAY in Uttar Pradesh, you’ll need an Aadhaar card, income certificate, bank passbook, photo, ID and address proof, and a declaration of no pucca house ownership.
PMAY-Urban applicants also need a property document or allotment letter and a home loan sanction letter (if applying under CLSS). PMAY-Gramin applicants should include an MGNREGA job card (if available) and proof of SECC 2011 inclusion.
